We found you very responsive to our requests, quick to reply to any questions and when we changed personnel, it was seamless - the new person just carried on where the last left off. The quality of the accommodation and the quality of the tours that you recommended were fantastic. We really enjoyed the places we stayed and the amazing places we visited.
During our travels we had several different guides and drivers as we changed locations. At all times, guides were on time and made a real effort to make our holiday memorable. The drivers were competent - we always felt safe in their hands.
It was great to meet you when we were in Hanoi. Thank you very much for the wonderful gifts for our wedding anniversary and for choosing Travel Vietnam. Pauline really enjoyed her birthday dinner too.
We have many hundred of wonderful photographs and memories. Vietnam and Cambodia will remain happily etched in our memories for the rest of out lives

I just wanted to let you know that we had a fantastic time in Vietnam. Thank you for your help in organising it and looking after us when we were out there. The personal service that we received from you was excellent. This was our first experience with Travel Vietnam and we will be definitely recommending you to friends interested in travelling to Vietnam.
The hotels were all of an excellent standard and all very centrally located. We were very grateful for the mobile phone that your provided us and this became invaluable during the cyclone.
The only comment we would have is that we feel that the Essentials of Vietnam tour should include the Cu Chi caves. We feel this is a very important site to visit in HCMC and we’re pleased that many people had told us to go before we arrived. This trip can easily be done in the same day as the HCMC sightseeing tour.
Please pass on out thanks to the guides and drivers that looked after us during our stay too. We have travelled extensively both independently and through organised tours and this was by the far the best organised trip we have done.

Thai air delayed us for 7 hours in Johannesburg, then we missed the connecting flight in Bangkok and sat there for 5 hours before we could fly to Hanoi. We could not phone or contact you and just had to wait until we reached Hanoi to tell our guide. Every thing we did was so interesting and different from what we did before. I have sent the feedback form back to you with our comments but I must also thank you personally for the care and attention you gave us throughout our contact with you, both prior to our visit and especially during our tour. Our experience on board the Sapaly Express did not spoil our tour simply because you were able to come to our assistance during our ordeal. If we did not have the use of the cell phone so that we were able to contact you our whole trip would have been ruined. Can I apologise also for sending the sms text messages during the middle of the night, I certainly did not expect to receive the instant replies but they certainly helped at such a traumatic time.

Vietnam Holidays 15 days / 14 nights from 1st – 15th Aug 2013

We had a wonderful holiday. Thank you.
As we are retired we do not want to run around and be busy every day. So the free days allowed us to wander around at our own pace and discover local places. So staying in one place for a number of days is rewarding.
The aim of this trip was to find more about local street style food. Most visitors are not adventurous enough to try food from street vendors and previously we have stayed in restaurants. There are a number of cooking shows on Vietnam, notably Luke Nguyen - a Vietnamese chef in Sydney, that have increased our interest.
The Taste of Hoi An Food Tour was amazing. Extremely informative and very well presented. We tasted some 42 foods. It is a MUST DO for anyone interested in Vietnamese food.
We also enjoyed the cooking school trip in Ho Chi Minh too. We had to gather plants before cooking and learnt a lot about them too. More hands on and better dishes than the Red Bridge school - but we hear that Red Bridge have developed more since our visit in 2010.
The tour in Nha Trang was worth doing. Different people have different interests - while Helen liked the mud bath it did little for me. Helen had difficulty with the place being a bit slippery underfoot. We both found the after bath hot pool too hot - we would have preferred a cooler pool [not heated, say 28C] to cool down after the bath.
The river dinner was a good last night. We had an excellent table at the front of the boat. Thanks.
We found Nha Trang food was good and cheaper than Hoi An. Ho Chi Minh was at least twice the price for food and beer.
Some comments:
- if we could be sent the Visa form that we fill in on arrival it should speed the process up. It took a long time to get the visa. A prepared form would help I think.
- I am 184cm tall. The car we had to the airport for departure was low. I had to slide forward to stop my head hitting the roof. I would not want to do a longer trip in that car. The mini buses and SUV type vehicles we used last trip were preferable.
- The guides seemed to recommend restaurants that were more expensive. We found local places ourselves and enjoyed the food there. Our aim was to try authentic local food rather than visit places catering mainly for tourists.
- as an aside, the charger I was given for the phone was the wrong size plug, but it was not a problem.
We have recommended you and Travel Vietnam to a number of our friends.

Everything went smooth, tour guides and pick up worked like swiss clocks and we enjoyed your country very much. Vietnamese people are really friendly!!
The only feedback for you to take into consideration for changing is:
- the stop when driving from and to Halong Bay was both the same. It would have been nice to stop at least once in another place.
- if wished by the guests, would be nice to have tour guides on the same table for lunch breaks. (Instead of sitting on another table) But we had the feeling that tour guides are instructed differently by the travel agency.

We had a very pleasant flight back home although I wish we were still travelling in Vietnam! I have just filled in the survey. This is what I wrote:
- Our trip was outstanding! We were very pleased with how well organized it was. Our guides and drivers were all excellent. Each of our guides were very helpful, knowledgeable, friendly and caring. Giap in Hanoi even managed to retrieve a blouse that I left on the overnight train from Sapa ( I was astounded that he got it back and was very grateful !!!).
Our accommodations were wonderful and we were really impressed by our rooms and the excellent food. We were amazed at the quality of the food even on small boats in Halong Bay and on the Eco Tour in Hoi An!!
We especially enjoyed our trek in Sapa and our Eco Tour in Hoi An. We are so glad the Eco Tour was included because it gave us a chance to actually experience what some Vietnamese people do in their daily life.

Sorry for the late reply! After we left Vietnam, we went on to Bangkok and Phuket and only arrived back in Sydney last Thursday. I would like to personally say what a wonderful time we had in Vietnam! Thank you so much to you and the perfect organization of our trip. We really felt that we were looked after by your special guides and drivers. The guides were all lovely, polite and informative. The accommodation was excellent! Especially the Sofitel Metropole - this was by far the most beautiful hotel I have ever stayed in. Thank you for arranging our stay there.

Just to let you know, I have completed the survey. I would have put excellent (10) for the drivers as well, but it took me some time to get used to all the traffic in Vietnam and the way everyone drives there (i.e. overtaking on an incoming lane :) I was a bit scared at first but eventually got used to it). They are very skilled to get around all those motorbikes! haha!

Hi Lana,
Lana arranged a magical memorable trip for the 4 of us - the accommodations were everything we hoped for and not only that her attention to detail was amazing - this included a birthday cake for me on my special day and flowers - how very thoughtful! The guides were informative and gave us great insight into the culture of the countries we visited and both drivers and guides acted extremely professionally at all times. The only hiccup we had was with the Cambodia arrangements - there was a breakdown in pickup at the Siem Reap airport and again in Pnom Pehn but was rectified immediately to our satisfaction. I really feel Lana had a good understanding of our needs and wants for the trip and arranged everything accordingly - this is so important when visiting a strange country and being able to rely on her expertise was invaluable. She was always available by email and answered promptly at all times. I am already recommending Vietnam Travel and Lana's services here in Canada to colleagues and friends. It was an exceptional experience. NOTE - regarding the Cambodia rating - the #3 is for the driver who took us to Phnom Pehn - the car was old and had no seat belts even though we specifically asked for them but the driver on the pickup day from the airport was great.
P/s: Hi Lana – I am rested now and back to work – still trying to get over the jet lag! I have send in the feedback survey but just wanted to Thank you again personally for all you did to make our trip so memorable. We had a magical time – all your attention to detail was so greatly appreciated! The accommodations were amazing as was the entire tour arrangement. We had a great tine in Vietnam. EVEN THROUGH THE FLIGHT BACK WAS TIRING, everything went well. We are now adjusting to snow and 2°C. Thanks for the late check out on the date of our departure and the 45$ refund for the Cu Chi tunnels. The 5 hrs. on the last day of the trip was too tiring for all of us. It was a pleasant gesture of refunding us even though there was the no-refund on the cancellation. Once again it was much appreciated.
I also had the pleasure of finally meeting you. We loved our trip seeing your beautiful country and getting to know the culture. I would like to make a special thanks to 2 guides who made our trip especially memorable:
In Sa Pa - Mrs May (Tel: 016774771198). She learned to speak English speaking with the tourists. She was incredibly warm and friendly. The unscheduled trip to her village, meeting her family made it very special. Her pronunciation of English was a lot better than some of the other guides we had.
In Seam Reap - Mr. Maden - he actually changed his program on the last day to take us to the airport. And for the seating arrangements at the Apsara Show he tried very hard to get us good seats up front.
It was the extraordinary efforts of these 2 guides that also made our trip memorable. I would like you to please mention it in your report.
P/s: I also would like to mention that our travel consultant Lana Vien did a fantastic, professional & excellent job of coordinating and efficiently responding to our every change in the planning stage of our vacation. Everything went off so smoothly especial the fact that there was always a guide there every time we came to a new city. All the hotels were good and we were very satisfied with all of our accommodations. I want to than Travel Vietnam for making this vacation a most memorable one (except for the train - that I’d like to forget!!!!). I have already sent your link to 3 of my friends. Cambodia & Vietnam Tour 1 Feb – 12 Feb 2013

After having returned from our outstanding vacation, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you and all the tour-guides and drivers for the excellent job. We enjoyed most the guide in Cambodia and Ho Ngoc Thong (Saigon) as well as Tran Thanh Ha (Hoi An).
Both, Ho Ngoc Thong and the guide in Cambodia had an outstanding knowledge which they shared with us, which made the tour in Cambodia and Saigon with Mekong Delta stunning and extremly enjoyable !!
It does not matter, that we could not get an official Harley-Davidson T-Shirt. Now, after having experienced the city and after having seen nearly 6 million small motorbikes, it is more than understandable to me, that there is no official Harley-Davidson dealership in Saigon, yet. But, it doesn't matter. We enjoyed the tour so much, that we will spread to visit Cambodia and Vietnam within our friends and relatives.
We will also recommend VTT - that's for sure ....you were very, very good!
If we would go again, we would make a few slightly changes. We would not go to see Dalat, we would spend more time in Mekong Delta and we would stay in the Mekong Delta overnight to be able to get more of the authentic feeling, how people live there.
We would kindly like to ask you, if you can give our excellent feedback regarding the guides, mentioned above, back to them.

We were very satisfied with our trip to two beautiful and interesting Asian countries Cambodia and Vietnam.
Your organisation was excellent, hotels were good (especially hotel in Hanoi which was excellent - location, service, very clean and beautifully designed) cars and drivers excellent.
The only thing that we have been confused was heating in Bamboo hotel in Sa pa. They do have central heating, but they are switching it on for just couple of hours which is definitely not helping during winter time, but during these two days that we spend in Sa pa we realize that heating do not exist for people leaving there and probably hotel is economizing energy. Fortunately we did not get sick, so we could continue our trip to Halong bay. Calipso boat was excellent with very nice people working there.

Thank you for organising our trip to Vietnam and Cambodia and we all had a fantastic time in both countries. Most of us returned to Australia early this week and few people went to Sri Lanka for an extended holiday. I have attached a couple of photos we took at the hotel when we met. It was really nice to meet you in person and wished we had bit more time to have a chat.
Your country is very beautiful and we all enjoyed the many places we visited and the Paradise Cruise in Halong Bay was very special, something we will remember for a very long time. I have to thank you for organising everything to meet our expectations. The choice of hotels and restaurants was excellent. All tour guides were very professional, friendly and made sure that we had a very good time. Please convey our kind regards to all of them, in particular Khoa and Tran who were very caring and friendly.
I certainly will highly recommend your company to our friends who may be planning to visit Vietnam in the future and already given your contact details to a couple of people.
I also like to point out a couple of things for your company to consider in organising future Tours. Many in our group were a bit concerned about the safety of several boat trips we had during the tour. In particular, the one we went to visit the floating village in Siem Reap. We understand that these trips are partly to give a first hand knowledge to tourists about the way of life for people in various parts of the world. The boat we travelled in Siem Reap was driven by a 16-year old kid and was not very good mechanically. Perhaps, in future trips it would be worthwhile to provide life jackets to everyone and contract only those with a good safety record to provide the boats. The other issue was the unnecessary delay and extensive questioning by the Immigration Officers in Siem Reap. They were asking for a letter from the Cambodian Tour Group and felt that we were delayed unnecessary. Some officers at the counters asked for money. Not sure what you can do about these things but something to consider to help promote tourism in that country.
Anyway, these are not criticisms but something that will help improve your business and bring more tourists to your country.
Overall, we had the most enjoyable trip which we will talk about for many years to come. Not sure when but If we decide to visit Vietnam again in the future you will be the first to know about it.
Finally, the ladies told me that you are expecting a baby soon. I like to wish you the very best and a safe arrival of the baby when due. Good Luck and best wishes!! Cheers

We just landed at Dubai airport. To start with, I need to thank you and Travel Vietnam for the excellent arrangements. We had a perfect vacation!!
The overall arrangements during the trip were excellent. I was particularly impressed by Lana who was efficient and always very prompt and relevant in her replies to my queries. The quality of hotels was up to the expected standard. Victoria Angkor at Siem Reap was easily the best with very high standard of rooms, food and service (it was well worth the additional cost). Although the rooms at Riverside Bamboo Resort at Hoian were spacious, the other amenities and services were very average (the location was also not very convenient). The guides at all the locations were very good. However, Mr Chung at HCMC deserves a special mention. He did his best to show us the maximum possible in the limited time available. He also gave very good advice on the shopping areas and restaurants to visit on our own time in the evening. Mr Pasquale in Siem Reap was also very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. His efforts ensured that we went on the Angkor Wat balloon ride although it had been cancelled on the scheduled day due to windy conditions. I chose Travel Vietnam purely based on my hunch (without any references) and the confidence provided by Lana. I fully realise that vacations can never be perfect but this was as close as it can get! On hindsight, we certainly have no regrets. I would not hesitate to recommend Travel Vietnam to my friends would certainly use them again. Thank you

I can’t believe we’ve been home again for almost two weeks after our wonderful holiday in Vietnam. I’m still working on “Viet time” and keep having flashbacks to all the great things we did.
I can’t thank you enough for organising such a memorable trip for us. NOTHING went wrong during the whole trip and the whole experience far exceeded our expectations.
The hotels were fabulous – all in convenient locations and of a terrific standard. The Renaissance in Hue was a standout and we lost ourselves in the Art Deco feel of the place as well as the luxury of the whole establishment. I don’t think I’ve ever been more pampered than on the Paradise Peak Cruise on Halong Bay – it was simply magnificent.
Air Vietnam flights were great – efficient and comfortable They even let us on with MUCH more baggage than we should have had!
Our guides were fantastic – professional and caring and all went “that extra mile” to ensure we did and saw everything we wanted to. Could you please pass on our thanks to Lan in Hanoi, Hieu in Hue, Tin in Dalat and Hau in Saigon. Australian tour guides could learn much from them all.
Our memories of Vietnam will stay with us forever. ..the fascinating culture, beautiful and diverse scenery, delicious food, great shopping , but most of all the people. Everywhere we went we were greeted with a smile and a sense of fun and happiness.
It was great to meet you on our arrival in Hanoi and we were really touched by your gift and the effort you took to see us personally. Please be assured that I will be recommend your company to all I know who contemplate a trip to Vietnam and we look forward to returning one day to see the parts of your beautiful country we missed this time.

Our only complaint was that the car you provided us in Saigon and Can Tho was too large but with very limited leg room and very uncomfortable in the long trip to can tho and back.

Firstly, I would say all was great as you can see by my ratings and so only offer these comments as positive feedback to assist you to make your business the best it can be.It was wonderful to have an English speaking guide with us so much but to make even better they could be prepared to make suggestions for options that are not typically tourist and help access local culture more when there are gaps in the day. In general I found Vietnamese people reluctant to make suggestions and would sort of give a nothing answer if pressed to make a judgement. Given people living in the particular area have better knowledge than me I found this at times frustrating. Also guides seemed reluctant to assist the tourist with advising the price that should be paid for something and assist with the bargaining. This is not a criticism but a general comment as I would praise all the guides for all their assistance & knowledge sharing. In particular I would like to praise Hai who was our guide in Hoi Ann/Hue who provided a level of care & professionalism beyond that of his job and was very caring. Finally, I like to particularly mention Miss My Tran who was wonderful in every respect and very patient and efficient with all my questions/ requirements. Our trip went so smoothly and exactly as I asked. I believe you are lucky to have employees such as Miss My Tran and Hai. Look after them! thank you for sharing your lovely country with us.

Vietnam Holiday - August 21st 2012 - September 5th 2012

How are you doing? Here everything is allright (means very busy working!).
As promissed i would give you a short summary of our stay in Vietnam.
Overall we loved again our stay in Vietnam and the time of two and a half week went very fast.
The first days staying in Hanoi was good to get used to the hot temperatures. We liked the hotel and we were very happy to meet you in the lobby of the hotel.
The stay at Halong Bay (2 nights) was a bit disappointed. We had a romantic idea of the surroundings but it is just to much touristic. Too many boats staying (overnight) at the same spot and overall it was very noisy, for example at 9pm the Karaoke went on......uhhhh we are at Halong Bay, one of the most unique places on earth??!
It was good we spent 3 days at Halong Bay because the full day we went on a smaller boat and sailed and kajakked with the guide along the bays. That was really nice!
The boat we were staying on was also a bit disappointed because the cabin was very small and the food was not that good. Friends of us stayed on a bigger boat (luxury paradise) and after all we preffered staying on that boat and pay some more.
Then we went for our stay in Hoi An (about 9 days) and the Victoria Beach resort is really very good! Beside that we loved the beach, walking for more than a hour and meeting just a few friendly fisherman. The old town we spent every night and having dinner at our favorite restaurants "good morning Vietnam" and "Morning Glory".
Of course we were also a good client of the cloth shop "A Dong Silk" just like three years ago i bought two suits and some jackets. Marielle also bought severall dresses, so we are dressed for the next years!
The last two days in How Chi Min was ok, maybe just one day to long afterall but we went for massage and a haircut so time flies. The hotel was in the good area of How Chi Min but the quality was less than the hotel in Hanoi, but ok no problem.
So afterall it was worth coming back to Vietnam. I have planned to come back in 2015 (than i can buy new suits again) and stay again in Victoria Beach Hoi An and in combination with Victoria Sapa it will be a nice time again!

Thank you for your email. I am back at work today after a very pleasant trip. My only problem was in HCMC on the return – I went to get into the van at the airport, put my foot on the step and heard a loud crunch and a terrible pain went through my foot….nearly passed out.
I have broken a bone in the bottom of my foot and am now in plaster from my toes to just under my knee!
I hobbled around for the last two days in HCMC but really couldn’t do very much so stayed in the hotel and went to the hospital when I got back to Australia.
I did advise Hai, our guide, of the problem, but wasn’t sure at that stage what I had done, whether it was broken or not.
Anyway, I also wanted to thank you for a wonderful trip. You planned it very well – everything was perfect . The hotels were excellent as were the guides and drivers.
My only comment would be with regard to the day trip to Vung Tau. I think it would be best to travel there and back by ferry as the trip home by car is too long. It is good if you haven’t been to Vietnam before and it enables you to see the countryside but in my instance, I would have preferred to come home by ferry.
You did a great job My and my husband and I thank you very much for your help and professionalism – we will certainly book through your company again when travelling to Vietnam/Cambodia or Laos.

We were all very happy with our holiday in Vietnam and Cambodia. The service provided both before and during our holiday was excellent and I would definitely be recommending your Travel Agency to anyone who was traveling to Vietnam and Cambodia. Ms. Nga was so patient with all our enquiries and so friendly when we finally met her her in person in Hanoi. As far as the service on the boat at Halong Bay is concerned I cannot thank you enough - it was amazing, we could not believe the wonderful food they presented at every meal and the friendly staff made it a memorable experience. Vietnam and Laos countries are very beautiful and different from ours, so it was a very enjoyable and rewarding, to return again.
Also let you know that we had a problem with the customs office of exit, when we entered Laos, paid the visa, they put the entry stamp, like everything to do the guide, we did not check the passports, and in my passport had not the enter seal, then in Vientiane, the police wanted that I must to return to the top (customs were we enter to Laos) for me to put the seal, if not, could not get out of Laos, at the end we solve it by paying $ 100. I paid and we take the flight.

Our guide Phuket (Phuoc) was fantastic. It is because of her that we all agree HCM was the favorite part of our trip. We did mean to email you sooner than this but life returned to its usual hectic pace on our return home. We would like to thank you for the wonderful trip we had in Vietnam which exceeded our expectations.
We were overall very pleased with our guides (and drivers) who did make the trip very informative, fun and thoroughly enjoyable:-
Anh in Hanoi was very polite, accommodating and informative. I guess as she is relatively young and "new" to her role, it was at times a little challenging to understand her, requiring perhaps more concentration on our part. She did however provide us with an informative and enjoyable experience of Hanoi.
The Halong Bay cruise was fantastic! The staff and activities were all great - the cooking class was a real bonus! We would have done 2 nights instead of one if we had known…..
Mr Huang in Hue was a gem! His enthusiasm certainly rubbed off on us making Hue one of our favourites - his knowledge of the history, passion for the subject and easy-going manner made this part of our tour thoroughly memorable. His friendly nature meant the kids felt quite comfortable asking him questions - this would suggest they were actually listening and were interested!!
The free time in Hoi An was well appreciated. A rest, some shopping and some lovely food and photos.
In Ho Chi Minh City, we were greeted at the airport by Mr Hao who did seem rather serious initially. Our first impressions were obviously incorrect (think his glasses were broken and he wasn't quite himself) as over the next 3 days, we really appreciated his knowledge of the region which he imparted with a great sense of humour while he entertained us with his many anecdotes. He even managed to persuade us to try the various wines including snake wine!! The kids felt very comfortable with him and he did seem to go out of his way to make sure we were looked after. The Mekong Delta was another one of our favourite highlights.
If there was a negative part to the whole trip it was perhaps the restaurant in Tay Ninh. The food was very average (perhaps the least appetising of our entire trip) and the staff was certainly not typical of our experience in Vietnam - one female member of staff actually informed us that a certain brand of beer was unavailable then proceeded to serve it to other tables - I am quite certain that it was not a language problem…. I understand that being a relatively small village that it is the only "restaurant" suited to tourists but in hindsight we would have been happy to skip Cao Dai Temple in Tay Ninh altogether.
Overall, we had a fantastic tour and would be very happy to recommend Travel Vietnam to friends and family. The customised tour with our own guide, driver and transport meant we weren't under any pressure to meet "deadlines" and were free to enjoy the sights/experiences at our own pace. The choice of accommodation was also excellent.

We were very impressed with the whole package offered by TRAVEL VIETNAM .... from the initial detail and attention from the Travel Consultant ... thru to all of the guides and drivers . All very good . The standard of the accommodation ... all very good and well located (as recommended by our travel consultant who asked us the right questions and made good recommendations accordingly ) The food generally in Vietnam was a highlight including all of the meals that were included in our package . Hello Ms. Mary,
we returned home safely after our Vietnam-travel.
At all times our guides and drivers were present upon arrival and we never had any problems being lost. Due to the mobile phone we were able to contact them in times outside of their service.
We were able to visit and see all of the travel program points you offered. They were shown and described in depth by our guides. We had very good contact to all guides and drivers.
It was a very interesting time even (and expected) it was no relax tour.
Especially the first days were very busy and the trip in the night train to Sapa and the trip back to Hanoi was a bit inconvenient (no heating in the train, the beds were a bit clamp, very early arrival).
It was quite an experience to see how your country recovered after the war time. We enjoyed that our travel time was just before the tet-festival and we were able to see all the beautiful decorations and the crowds of lucky people. We were impressed on the heavy traffic in the cities.
Please consider this as a first comment. After all impressions have settled we may send more comments.

We wanted to thank you for arranging the most amazing trip of our lives for us!
You and your team were so professional in putting together a trip including everything we wanted to see and do.
Travelling in a foreign (non-English speaking) country is often daunting - but there was a friendly driver to meet us at every stop, and a very knowledgeable guide at every destination.
Our Vietnam and Cambodia trip was so wonderful, we have recommended it to all our family and friends.
We found the country to be clean, the people friendly and helpful, it was not too expensive and the food was amazing!
We also got engaged on our last day at Angkor Wat - it was a very special day for us!
Our every day was filled with new adventures...
Herewith a brief list of our encounters:
Hanoi was amazing! We loved the old quarter, temples, war history museum, shopping and water puppet show. Simply wondering around the streets and watching the people was fun.
Halong Bay was simply breath-taking! We could not get enough of the scenery. It is a must !!!
Hoi An was definitely our favourite city. We could not get enough of this place - the old quarter was incredible, the old buildings and little shops were so authentic. The fact that they do not allow vehicles in this part made it so peaceful and one could enjoy the sounds and smells of the little shops far better. We rode around on bicycles and felt so safe, we had beautiful clothes made, did a fun cooking course at Gioan, walked along the river illuminated by colourful lanterns at night and had a massage at our lovely hotel spa (this was our favourite hotel!!). We regret not having another day at this destination! My Son was very interesting but our feeling was that if people are also going to Angkor Wat then My Son isnt neccesary as the tombs are far more impressive at Angkor Wat. Hue was not a highlight on our list, maybe because it rained all day - but we did enjoy seeing the Citadel and the Puppet King's Tomb.
We spent New Year's eve in Saigon (Western New Year) and the whole city was illuminated by lights and lanterns and there was even a fireworks display on the river at midnight. We also enjoyed the big market, where the shopping was great and we got to taste delicious fruit that we had never seen before. This city has a lovely vibe to it. The location and quality of the hotel was great as we were within walking distance to many of the Museums and restaurants.
We visited the Cu Chi tunnels and valued the history that we learned about - it's worth the visit. Duncan absolutely loved it as he is a history enthusiast and he got to shoot a machine gun.
The Mekong Delta was wonderful! It was incredible to see how people live on the water, and walking among the small industries gave us a much better perspective of daily life in this area .
We travelled to Phnom Penh by boat and saw more floating villages and rural life.
We visited the Killing Fields and museum at Phnom Penh, this was a very disturbing experience, very sad that a genocide happened there so recently. We regret not having time to visit the royal palace; it looked very impressive from the outside. We enjoyed watching the people dance and exercise along the river in the late afternoon. If time allows it, people should try and have 2 nights here.
We do not recommend taking a boat to Siem Reap - it was 8hrs long, hot, cramped and uncomfortable. Rather fly!
Siem Reap was absolutely incredible!!! The many old temples are amazing to see, each with it's own unique story and character. Our favourites were Angkor Wat where we watched the sun rise, Angkor Tom with the giant stone faces, and Ta Prohm with the trees growing over the ancient ruins. Pub street is also not to be missed, it was very festive and the food was great.
Overal, we felt the tour you designed for us was very well run. Having the drivers and guides made life much easier for us to get around without wasting a lot of time. Most of the guides were exceptional with their manner, and their knowledge was wonderful. Our best guides were from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh. The hotels were lovely, well located and the breakfasts were delicious.
We will cherish our memories from our Vietnam & Cambodia trip forever - and hopefully one day, we will be able to bring our children to come and experience this wonderful destination!

EXCLUSIVE INDOCHINA DISCOVERY - from 12 Dec 2011 to 29 Dec 2011

Both Zac and I enjoyed our trip. It was well put to-gether and we thank you for all your efforts and professionalism. You offered us a superior product and will recommend your agency to others. Here are a few suggestions:
Myanmar - First of all we did not know that this was a CASH only economy and therefore was not fully prepared.. Lucky for us we had $120.00 and of that we had to pay $20.00 for our departure tax. We used the $100.00 for tips to our guides, drivers and porters. It was a very stressful period for us as we only enjoyed breakfast and did without lunches and dinners. We would have liked to have spending monies with us for souvenirs. I recommend that you prepare a checklist of Things to Know Before You Go for all of your international clients.
For us tipping is rewarding for good service, however; because we had so many different guides, drivers and service handlers ( busy boys, hotel maids, cyclo drivers etc) it became a bit too much with the constant preparation for finding monies to tip, complciated by the fact hat we had to deal with so many different currencies. Each day we ending up tipping at least five or more individuals. This detracted from the vacation. You may wish to include a general porterage in your package for the services paid for. This constant pressure to find monies for tipping was a bit too much and distracting from enjoyment of the vacation. For example, when we travelled to China in 2009 we were only responsible for tipping our guide - all other service providers were taken care of by the tour company.
Other than that, I would have enjoyed a day at the spa or a stay at a luxurious beach or lakeside resort for a couple days. I also suggest that you include some very contemporary stuff as well - a visit to a modern art gallery etc as options. Mandalay was a disappointment especially the tour to Palace etc. We loved Bagan and seeing Rangoon. We enjoyed our tour of Vietnam and Cambodia.
