HOA BINH (Day Trip)

Some 74km Southwest of Hanoi, set in the foothills of limestone mountains lies Hoa Binh. The area has a mixture of ethnic minorities, ancient pagodas and diverse landscapes.
Visit the villages of the Muong people and see how their lives are unchanged by time and see the extraordinary structure of the Russian built Hoa Binh dam (620m wide at it’s widest mark).
08.00 departure. Enjoy the interesting 2-hour drive to Hoa Binh City, along the way see colonial French period churches s, rice fields, limestone mountains and everyday Vietnamese village life.
Follow up with a light trek to a local Muong minority village, where you will see the local inhabitants living in wooden stilt houses as they have for centuries.
Return to Hoa Binh town for lunch.
Visit the hydroelectricity plan on the way back to Hanoi.
Arrive Hanoi at 18.00.
