Dong Nai is located on the south of Vietnam. It is surrounded by Lam Dong in the north, Binh Thuan in the east, Ba Ria - Vung Tau in the south, Binh Duong, Binh Phuoc and Ho Chi Minh City in the west.

Topography
The topography of Dong Nai consists of plain and flat land with scattered mountains, gradually lower of height level in southwest direction, mainly form of plain, wave–shaped hills, low and relatively flat mountains.  The main kinds of land are bazan, alluvial soil. Therefore, it is good condition for industrial plants (rubber, coffee), and orchard.

Climate
Dong Nai lies in the monsoon tropical zone and is affected by the north-east and south-west monsoon. It is also put under the influence of Pacific Ocean tropic atmosphere between April and October. Climate is cloven in two distinct seasons. The rainy season lasts from March or April to November and the dry season from December to March or April of the following year. Average temperature goes between 24 – 29oC, much lower than standard level of the tropical regions (26 – 30oC). Dong Nai province's weather with regular sunshine, rain and high humidity equally found in the localities facilitates agricultural production and development of industry and cultural and tourism activities.

Tourism
The local soil conditions are very suitable for the growth of cash crops and fruit trees.  The 100-km coastline in Dong Nai is a natural reserve for different kinds of seafood. In addition this coast is endowed with two beautiful beaches (Long Hai and Phuoc Hai beaches) which attract many swimmers and holiday makers.

Dong Nai is also a major industrial complex with about 100 major plants and enterprises. The province is easily accessible by land, river and sea routes.  It is endowed with many picturesque landscapes and tourist sites such as Tri An Water Fall, Cat Tien National Park and Tan Trieu Pomelo Village.

Tri An Waterfall in the Dong Nai river is 50 kilometers downstream from the capital township of Bien Hoa. The fall is 8 meters high and 30 meters wide. It offers a broad view of the magnificent natural surroundings. The bed of the fall is dotted with several islets and boulders.
 Cat Tien is a primitive forest with an area of 3,500 hectares. The forest is a natural habitat and a diverse and rich bio mass. The forest is home to valuable and giant timber trees. It is also an ideal habitat for large wild animals such as elephants and bison and rhinoceros. What is attracting many archaeologists to the forest is that it still houses some valuable archeological relics. Cat Tien National Park is about 150 kilometers from Bien Hoa. Tan Trieu Pomelo Village, 25 kilometers from Bien Hoa, is reputed regionally for its many orchards of pomelo. Visitors to the village are likely to be offered several fruits to try for different taste that the several kinds of pomelo at Tan Trieu have to offer. The thanh tra pomelo is recognized easily for its mild sweetness and sour taste. Tan Trieu Pomelo Village is a very sought after in the domestic and foreign market.

The Cham and Khmer people who live in the province hold their own typical festivals: the Royal Haji ritual of the Cham people, and the Chol Chnam Thmay Festival of the Khmer.

Transportation
Bien Hoa City is 30km from Ho Chi Minh City, 1,684km from Hanoi following National Highway No.1A. It also is 278km from Dalat, 95km from Vung Tau, 198km from Can Tho.
